Papaver- Oriental Poppy

Every late spring I slam on the breaks when I come upon a bank covered in bright orange oriental poppies. Rather than rejoice in their glory, I feel like a failure for not getting around to planting a big sweep of them for myself. I'm happy to report that I planted way too many in 2019 to be enjoyed for the rest of my life. You only have to do it once and they you've got them forever, as long as you are on well drained soil. They will form bigger clumps each year and reseed a bit. A classic planting companion with iris and poppies to make your Monet dreams come true. We have opted to offer two of the lesser seen colors as they are a bit less common than their orange counterparts and deserve our attention. (Maybe we'll add a big bold orange for 2021!)
