'Hillside Black Beauty' is said to be the darkest Cimicifuga plant to date. Emerging green it quickly forms an upright clump of striking, dark purplish-black foliage contrasted by long, white bottlebrush blooms late in the season.
It the late season its airy flowers will reach 4-7' tall. I like cutting the foliage. The flowers also last well but may have an aroma that doesn't agree with all.
