Traditionally thought of as tropical, the galaxy strain agapanthus has been reliably hardy to zones 6-10! They're quite happy in containers as well, so if you live a bit too far north, as we do, consider dragging them into a more sheltered winter location. Agapanthus will bloom continually throughout summer. A lovely cut flower.
